The Mithril Performance Civic Si at WHRRI on its way to its first Podium!
October 2020 was a great month for the MP Civic Si. Not only did it compete in its first competition event, but it also got its first podium finish, a solid 3rd place at the Waterford Hills Bracket Race Number 7 event. Other than the Acuity throttle pedal spacer, the vehicle ran a dead stock configuration and tune including stock brake pads and 40K + mile Goodyear all season tires. The Civic ended up running a 0.053 second variation on its dial in time beating 9 other competitors to the podium including Miatas, BMWs, and a Z06 Corvette. The MP Civic also won the informal “loudest” car award not for its exhaust, but for its howling all season tires!
Current plans are for the MP Civic to run most if not all the Waterford Hills Bracket Races in 2021 as well as one or two SCCA Time Trial Events. We have already had the clutch upgraded by Pure Tuning in Toledo, OH to an Exedy Stage 1 unit to go with the +9 psi Hondata tune. Winter plans include installation of a CTR rear sway bar and lower control arm brace along with a Yonaka cat back exhaust courtesy of Redline360.com. Loudest car award notwithstanding, look for the Civic to be wearing a set of 245/40 R18 200 UTQG rated tires in 2021.
